Saxophonist Paul Mundy, a Chicago based musician and teacher for many years, recently relocated to Amsterdam. He has played at major venues with well known artists in the US, Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean. He brings an excitement, soulfulness, and commitment to music that has connected him to important venues and artists. Paul also holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree, Magna Cum Laude, from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. His teaching includes private lessons since 1992, public schools, and at Columbia College Chicago. He has played at such venues as the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Radio France, VH1, North Sea Jazz Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Universal Theatre Los Angeles, Chicago Jazz Festival, Montego Bay Jazz Festival, Nice Jazz Festival, and more. Some artists he has performed with include; Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Lou Rawls, Larry Coryell, Martha Reeves, Jerry Butler (the Impressions), Willie Torres (Spanish Harlem), Angel Melendez, and Karen Carroll (Delmark records). His experience spans many genres: Jazz, Blues, Latin, Funk, R&B, Avant Garde, and he is also classically trained.
Paul teaches a well rounded program that he has developed over the years. He believes that, along with his experience, his most important assets as a teacher are patience and encouragement. He encourages the parents of young students to be involved and attend the lessons. He teaches all levels, from beginners to advanced players. Paul loves teaching, and enjoys each lesson along with his students.

Payment is required in advance for each semester fall, spring, summer, or in advance for 2 months minimum if begun after the beginning of a semester.
